the Edsa Revolution, the Ninoy and Cory Foundation thought of a new way
to remember the spirit of People Power.
Rapa Lopa, a leader of the iamninoy-iamcory Movement, said they
thought of a new form of people power via a fun run on February 27
(Sunday), which will also be held in other provinces.
"One way to remember the moment is to participate in a new form of
people power called the Edsa Run. Proceeds will go to the Department of
Education (DepEd) to be used for building much-needed classrooms," Lopa
DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro said they thought of having
partnerships with the private sector to reduce the huge number of
classrooms needed in all public schools.
"We need 152,000 classrooms taking into consideration the increase in
the population and expected new entrants in kindergarten. With the

[partnerships], the government does not have the sole burden of raising
funds," Luistro said.
The Edsa Run will be from 5:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. along a route that
passes through White Plains Ave., EDSA, Ortigas Avenue, Greenmeadows,
Mini-billboards will also be installed along the route to recount the
